I'm especially excited because in prayer this morning, I got clear about a problem that has been plaguing me for years: feeling overwhelmed.
You see, I tend to over-promise and over-commit. I've always excused this by saying to myself that "life is rich and exciting when it's especially creative and challenging." But, truth be told, there is nothing exciting or creative about feeling overwhelmed. In truth, it sucks.
As bad as it makes me feel, I have been doing it again and again. Recognizing this led me to realize that I must be getting something out of it. I realized there must be some hidden benefit. Then I saw that feeling overwhelmed has given me:
- self-sympathy,
- feeling of self-importance,
- skin-deep attention from my significant others, and
- the avoidance of responsibility (the ability to put off the projects I fear the most).
The costs, however, of allowing this form of Resistance (read Pressfield's "War of Art") to dominate me are too great. These costs include but are not limited to:
- stress (obviously),
- loss of present moment aliveness,
- an inability to give or receive real love (how can I when I'm in a state of overwhelm and frustration?)
So this morning I saw a new possibility. I am now seeing a clear vision of the future where I am:
the king of my realm
- doing my full Power Hour (I've been skipping the Wii Fit part for a few weeks, using the excuse of a karate injury),
- getting into state each morning (pumping myself up),
- cutting the crap (no more wasting energy on resentment and non-closed relationships from the past...),
- with sincere love, saying "no" to requests from others that do not fit into my responsibilities and priorities,
- getting an awesome personal assistant for additional leverage, and
- seeing "wins under my belt" and abundance everywhere.
Thanks be to God!

YES! So proud of myself... I finished my Power Hour, Wii Fit Plus and all. Only a bit of pain from the cracked rib.
And I started a new log in my vision book called "WUB" for Wins Under my Belt. It was really fun to list recent wins, victories, and signs of progress. I highly recommend listing out your own wins... you will be pleasantly surprised.
