Wind and direct, high-contrast light are the bane of the flower photographer existence. When scouting for floral subjects, you want to note the wind factor. If there is the slightest breeze, be prepared to wait patiently in between exposures. If the wind is fairly strong or steady, you have two choices: come back at another time, or use something to block the wind, such as a light tent.

Taking crisp windy weather pictres is extremely difficult. When photographing flowers in the wind, often the only thing you can do is wait patiently for the wind to die down. If you are using a tripod and a remote shutter release (highly recommended!), you will have an additional advantage here. You will be able to watch the flowers for stillness without having to continue looking through your viewfinder.
Have a great week!
