Hi Friends!
Happily, I'm right on schedule for my weekly podcast!
In today's show, #4!, I discuss the value of using a tripod and of breaking the "rules" in order to come up with unique images. The photo examples show a beautiful late-day scene at the ocean. With a tripod keeping things good and steady, I was able to keep the camera steady while shooting at a very slow shutter speed. The result: a wonderfully soft-and-silky surf.
As for the overall tone, one photo displays a natural look. But by changing the White Balance to tungsten (normally reserved only for indoor lighting), the same image now reveals a blue, almost-mystical look. Two photos: Exact same scene, totally different feel. The lesson? Don't be afraid to bend the rules to get something creative!
