I am just wrapping up an exciting photo tour in New Zealand. If you ever get a chance to visit this country, I highly recommend it. We've had our fair share of weather - both good and bad. The lupines in particular have been amazing - it being late spring down here in the Southern Hemisphere, this is the time to hit the lupine. Imagine yourself surrounded by purple, red, yellow, and white lupine as far as the eye can see. It's like heaven.

Visit my gallery to view a selection of images from this tour down under. I use a 100mm macro lens for the macros. I love this lens as it allows me to get totally inside small things like flowers. It opens up a whole new universe. A macro lens or mode really comes in handy when the sky is overcast, during mid-day, and at other times when it doesn't work to do full scale scenics and landscapes.

I'll be talking with you from the eastern side of the Pacific really soon!
