A few weeks before the BetterPhoto Summit, my husband and I flew to New York City with our younger son to visit Columbia University where he is beginning his Master's degree studies. Since visiting that awesome place - both the University and the city - I have been pondering the many ways each of us continue our education. Young people, of course, may continue their schooling in order to be better equipped to pursue their career choice. But most of us, who are past the formal education stage, read books, magazines, the newspaper and, occasionally take classes. For those who work full time, it may seem like a hassle to actually get in a car and drive somewhere to take a class so... the great thing about BetterPhoto is that you can stay home, sit down in a comfortable chair to receive the lessons online, ask questions and make comments. You can complete the photo assignments anywhere in your area - even, possibly, in your own back yard.
The Fall session of photography courses begins October 5th. Classes are filling up quickly but there's still time! Something new that you will notice is that we've added several short classes like - Beginner's Guide to Strobe Lighting, Camera Raw Processing, Color Management, Details and Close-Ups, Non-Digital Special Affects, Four Essential Filters, and the Magic of Wide-Angle. Take a look at all of the fun short courses and our other longer classes as well, and join us for this exciting Fall Quarter. What a beautiful time to be taking pictures and getting educated!
